Be You

Be You
My sister in law and I were talking about our blogs today.
She was telling me that she still is trying to find her niche.
When I look at her blog, I think that she’s already found her niche.
She has a great heart, an amazing story, love for her family, a strong hope, very creative, great tutorials and fabulous style.
So I started thinking. Are we required to write to a certain market as bloggers? I don’t think so. We can if we want to. But there is nothing wrong with just being you.
So my sweet sister in law and fellow bloggy friends:
here is my encouragement for ya’ll today.

Don’t be afraid to be you.
Don’t worry about being someone else.
Don’t worry about being the best blog or having the most followers.
Share what God is teaching you whether it is big or small.
Share bits and pieces of your story.
Share your struggles.
Share your frustrations.
Share your hopes and dreams.
Share something you have learned.
Share your love story.
Share your parenting tips
(you don’t have to be the best parent to do this).
Share your losses.
Share your style.
Share your favorite meal or recipe.
Share family traditions.
Share your funny memories.
Share what’s on your heart.
Share your projects
(they don’t have to be perfect).
Share your favorite pins!!!!
Share your business (lots of people want to support you).
Share one of those frustrating parenting moments.
And if you don’t want to blog about something don’t.
If you don’t feel like blogging don’t.
If it ever becomes too much or not fun don’t blog.
Don’t do it for money.
Don’t do it to compete.
Do it for you.
And remember
Be You

My oh my, how I absolutely LOVE this post. My favorite bloggers are the one's who simply blog for THEMSELVES, and not for what their readers WANT TO SEE.

Great post! I love how you go "Be You" out of those two words! Yes, we write not for anyone but to glorify the King of kings and Lord of lords!

So true.. Just today I was thinking that people must be tired of reading about my family.. Then I remembered that was one of the main reasons I started a blog. To document our moments.. So, let them tire..

I totally agree: especially since my blog is all over the place. But it is me and I choose to stay true to who I am.

What wonderful advice. Sometimes I get too caught up in wondering if people will like what I write or even care.... but at the end of the day if I care enough to write it than that is enough.

I couldn't agree more.
Thank you for the reminder.
I also sometimes struggle with finding my niche.
But at the end what really matters is to be yourself and most important having confidence into your own blog and believing that it is good when you are you.

I totally agree about this!

I love reading blogs that spring from the personality of the writer - that is what makes them unique!

Love this! I don't think that it's entirely necessary to have a niche as a blogger, but I personally think that to be a 'successful' blogger you need to have a niche. People follow because they want to see more of what they already like. Now my definition of successful is probably different than yours, but I think it's important to have a niche but to be yourself at the same time.
