10 weeks
Baby’s size:
According to Baby Center baby is the size of a kumquat and my uterus is the size of a grapefruit. Crazy huh? I love reading how my baby is developing it just goes to show that God knit us together and created us. We are so complex, God is so amazing.
Weight gained:
With all the throwing up I am still gaining weight. It must be all the crackers I am eating all day long. 3 pounds so far. In the first trimester, I always need to eat something right away or I’ll throw up. That is what I’ve been doing lately.
Morning sickness:
I’m still having morning sickness. Morning sickness is never my favorite but I am just thankful that I am able to work and I have lots of help from my husband.
Cravings: Watermelon, honey crisp apples, chicken noodle soup, pot pie, veggie sushi rolls and Mexican food
Hormones: I have been a snappy crazy mess. I get my feelings hurt way too easily and I just feel moody. I hate this stage because being moody is just not how I am normally. I’ll be happy when things settle down a bit. Oh yah and did I mention pregnant brain? I'm pretty much retarded lately.
Prayers:
Besides all my prayers for my baby to come to know the Lord and live for Him. I want to pray for me and Anthony. I am worried about having four kids, how will I love each of them and spend quality time with each of them. I am praying that when the new baby comes God will give me balance and help me make time for each one of my children.

Speaking of pregnancy I know there are many women who struggle with getting pregnant. Ashley from Flats to Flip Flops has started this amazing foundation to help families with infirtility expenses called The Hudson Foundation. Ashley is selling these beautiful Hope Necklaces as a way to raise money for families who struggle with infirtility. Ashley is giving away a Hope necklace on my blog to spread awareness of The Hudson Foundation. I hope you take a few minutes to read more about how we can help support families who struggle with infertility.

Hi!  My name is Ashley and I blog over at Flats to Flip Flops!  A big THANK YOU to Melanie for letting me post today on her amazing blog!

I am a momma to two sweet kiddos and recently my husband and I started a non profit organization called

The Hudson Foundation:Mission Hope

You see, starting our family was no easy task.  We struggled for 4 years, met with multiple doctors, endured numerous treatments and a miscarriage before we were finally diagnosed with unexplained infertility.

Our doctors suggestion was to try In Vitro Fertilization and in 2007 we became pregnant with our first son.  We were so blessed to be able to receive IVF.  Unfortunately, there are many couples out there not able to try and start their families because of the financial burden of IVF.  It can run anywhere from $10,000-$15,000.

So we decided we would like to do something to help, do something to give couples struggling hope that their dreams of starting a family can come true.

At The Hudson Foundation, Inc our goal is to raise money to be able to give couples grants to use toward IVF.  This year our goal is to raise $6,000 and we need all the help we can get!

On our website www.thehudsonfoundation.com we sell handmade DOVE and HOPE jewelry and 100% of the proceeds go straight to the grant.

And today, thanks to sweet Melanie, we are giving away, to a lucky reader, a Hope Necklace!

So please visit our website and shop to learn more about us and this cause.  Our dreams came true with the birth of our son, please help us make other people's dreams come true too!

So would you like to win this beautiful hope necklace?

Our weekend

I don't have any pictures from this weekend. It was so busy that I just forgot. Yesterday Olivia had gymnastics with my mom. While they were at gymnastics Grace and I went on a bike ride and then took the dogs for a walk. It was such a nice day in Arizona I was just trying enjoy each moment outdoors.
After gymnastics my mom found this amazing garage sale down the street from my house. My mom got the entire kitchen set from Pottery Barn for a crazy deal for the grandkids room at her house.
\
I got tons of cute clothes, a few pair of shoes (including a pair of Coach shoes), two nice jackets, kids clothes, kid shoes and some doll clothes for less than $50! It was an awesome deal. All of the clothes were designer and barely worn. That was the first garage sale I went to and now I want to go to another one.
Later that day the kids and I went to one of our friends birthday parties at the park. It was fun chatting with some of my old friends and the kids had a great time.
This morning I woke up with the worst case of morning sickness. I have morning sickness every morning but for some reason today it was so bad that I threw up the pill that is supposed to help me stop throwing up.
Anthony and the kids took care of my all morning. Then my mom came over to help out. She took the girls to lunch and then Grace played nurse with grandma and helped me eat lunch. It was cute.
At one point when I was throwing up I felt this hand rubbing my back, I looked behind me and Olivia was saying, "It's ok momma." I'm so thankful for my little family.
Right now I am just resting while my step mom takes the kids to the park. My dad will be coming over later to help too. I am so thankful for how my family is helping me during this not so fun stage of pregnancy. This pregnancy is one of the worst cases of morning sicknesses I've ever had.
I am praying that I can manage work this week. Last week I called in sick on Monday and Friday. So hopefully I will start feeling better and not throw up all over myself while driving to work. That would be a huge victory!
Also I updated my side bar. If I forgot your ad could you please e-mail me and remind me?
Thanks everyone!!

Flat Stanley

All my little Gracie has been talking about is Flat Stanley.
I had no idea what Flat Stanley was until Grace's
teacher sent us an e-mail all about Flat Stanley.
Flat Stanley is this flat boy that you send off to someone. That person keeps Stanley for a week, they document what Stanley did, where he went, even take pictures of him, and tell about the City he visited.
You can read more about Flat Stanley here

We already have Flat Stanley heading to
Georgia, Europe, Alaska, and Oregon.

I would love to have Flat Stanley visit as many places as possible so Grace can share with her class all the fun places Flat Stanley went.

Do you live somewhere exciting?
Would you be willing to have Flat Stanley
come hang with you for a week?

If you are willing to help a sweet cute little girl out named Grace.
Pretty please e-mail me at Melaniemd@live.com
You can see what my sister did with Flat Stanley here.

Thanks a bunch,

Swapping blogs with Ashley today!

Hi friends!
Today Ashley and I are swapping blogs. You can read my post over on her blog and she's giving some great advice over on my blog!
Ashley doesn't know this but today I am linking up with Kelly's Korner's Show Us Your life! Ashley has an amazing shop called The Pink Ruffle where she sells the cutest headbands, necklaces, bracelets, and pillows. Make sure to check it out. Ashley would love to be a stay at home mom one day and I want that
for her too. Hopefully her shop can one day bring in enough income to make her dream a reality.
Hi, my name is Ashley Blunt from The Pink Ruffle! I am a blogger, shop owner over here, mama to a sweet 10 month old, wife to a handsome man AND work full time. Whew...it gets a little crazy! I am so excited to be swapping blogs with my sweet sister in law Melanie :)
Balance is something I am still trying to figure out, but have learned a couple things along the way.
Over here, it is all about priorities!
Family: Family always comes first.  I don't ever want to give my family less because I am making a headband or have to much work to do.  I usually wait to check my email or work on an order from my shop until my little one has gone down.  My husband and I will usually watch TV for a little bit together or just sit and talk, and then I will start on what I need to do.  But while we are all together as a family, I want to be there fully!
Work: Though I wish I could just stay home full time and take care of my sweet little girl, financially where we are at right now it is just not a possibility.  Luckily, I have family here that can watch her and I have a day off during the week too.  I never bring work home.  I think this is key.  For all you working mamas out there, bringing work home does no good for the family :) When I get home, I am in full mom and wife mode.
Shop: This is a passion of mine. I love to make headbands and allow mamas to dress their little one  in something unique and cute! I want to make sure that I don't make this everything though! Yes, I do love it, but I believe there is a time and place for this.  During naps or at night is when I will work on orders and designs.
Me: Finding time for you is really important. I try to make this a priority whether it is taking an extra long shower, going to get a pedicure or reading at starbucks.  To keep on going and to be able to give all that you are, you time is important.  I find myself getting overwhelmed or off balance when I don't leave time for me.  I am thankful for a husband that feels the same way and encourages me to go do something for myself.

Prioritizing helps me find balance! I don't know if I ever will be totally balanced, but I try! I think if you know what your priorities are and try to keep those first, you are on the right track :)

Thanks Melanie for letting me share! Come say hi over here! I would love to meet you :)

A Pregnancy Update

The sticker says 8 weeks but I really took the picture at 9 weeks.
I forgot to take an 8 week picture.
Yes, super forgetful lately.
Aren't those stickers cute?
I found this cute shop called Baby Smiles on Etsy.
They have stickers to put on your belly throughout your pregnancy
and they have those cute ones for babies for each month!
I wish I would have known about the stickers with my older kids!
I will have to do the cute stickers with the new baby.

9 weeks
Baby’s size:
According to Baby Center baby is the size of a grape.
Weight gained:
2 pounds! I normally gain a lot of weight (like a pound a week) when I’m pregnant. Every time I try so hard to not gain as much weight but I still do with every pregnancy. Thankfully I usually lose 30 pounds after birth which is super awesome!
Morning sickness:
In full swing. I have been throwing up so much the doctor prescribed me some medication. It is helping a ton!! Despite all the throwing up I still have an appetite.
Cravings:Watermelon, honey crisp apples, chicken noodle soup and Mexican food
Hormones: Out of control!!! With every pregnancy, the first three months I am an emotional mess. I am super snappy and little things bother me. I try so hard to be patient but for some reason it’s extra hard.
Prayers:My prayer for this baby is the same pray I have for all my kids. I pray that this baby would come to know the Lord and serve Him their entire life. I pray that this baby would be close to their siblings and their cousins. I pray that God would give me patience during this season of lots of hormones. I also pray that Anthony and I would be parents that are gracious, forgiving, loving, encouraging and caring.

What were some of your cravings while you were pregnant?
Did you get crazy hormonal like me?
